TEIN: Comfort Sport (CS) - Cruising Master's
Recently, I posted about these TEIN's I picked up for $1200 (from $1600 originally); so I thought I'd share an update about them now that they're installed; I know some people expressed an interest.
First off, I'd like to thank John for the install ...
Awesome guy to work with; I underestimated a cost once, and came up short; he let me go to work, and get at 'em later (not sayin' he's doin' that for everybody! ... Lol) but, really nice guy, and his staff is always cordial. Best of all, I've seen his shop be "thee" place for 700-800+Hp Supra's for the last 10-12 years; John really knows these machines.
If you're in PA (Delaware County), lookup "Drexel Automotive" in 19026
This was the stock ride height ...
This is about a week or so after the install ... Very slight difference, but noticeable.
Here they are installed ...
I was too busy over the weekend to get a pic of the current ride-height, but I'll update this soon.
It's sitting at the factory height however; I'm choosing to ride on them for +/- 1000mi. to allow some to time to settle-in, before I lower it any further. To be honest, I've only driven about 86mi so far, and it already looks to me like it sunk a little bit, perhaps an inch. It definitely appears slightly more aggressive in stance since before, and I scraped my exhaust once or twice already, haha.

Yes, used, but hardly as you can tell in the pics. The spring rate is 559 lbs/in front 336 lbs/in rear (10/6 kgf/mm) where as things like the SS and HA spring rates are much stiffer at 783/447 lbs/in (14/8 kgf/mm). TEIN offers 15 different optional spring rates for the CS fronts from 2-18 kgf/mm and six different spring rates for the rears from 3-8 kgf/mm. They come with better (firmer) pillow-mounts than other coilovers also, which reduce the transfer of road noise.

Sucks to hear the make the ride louder. I was hoping to increase handling and dereace road noise when I get around to my suspension. Good review though, this was the setup I was going to go with; guess I wont be anymore!

Well don't be too discouraged; it's not so much the ride "overall" thats louder, its the "bumps" only.
The ride itself remains relatively quiet, it hasn't lost that quality entirely. When I was writing this, I specifically had certain bumps in mind, such as on the highway (depending on how that roads designed) you'll hear that sound like "clip-clip ... clip-clip ... clip-clip ..." more clearly, as you cross over the sections of road. While you're on paved roads, just driving in general, it's the same Lexus (audibly).

The extra noise might be because of the pillowball mounts. When I had the older version I made some rubber pads/gasket and installed them between the frame and shock to minimize the noise. The car sits nicely

I think the CS coilovers are awesome. Perfect for the street SC300/400. Too bad they discontinued the setup. I think if someone was truly set on getting another set made. I would just hit up Fortune Auto and ask them for the same spring rates. They are going to shock dyno match the valving and you'll end up getting the same setup.
