Coilovers...Spacers...Drivability
 

I know this topic has been discussed extensively on the forum, but I would like to ask all the gurus what will be best.

I am currently lowered on BC Racing coilovers with the stock tire size. I don't want to be the lowest guy on the street and I'd like to keep the most drivability possible. I want to get spacers for my factory 18s and not sure which route to go. I have read that a lot of owners use 15mm front and 20mm rear with the factory setup, but I've also read that 15mm front causes rubbing issues and can be fixed by modding the fender liner (which I don't want to do).

I plan on going with either Ichiba V1 spacers or H&R because I like the idea of replacing the stock studs and not cutting them for the attached stud variety of spacers.

What setup would be the most appropriate for the factory spec wheels and tires, making them as flush as possible without rubbing or doing any fender modifications? I've also read that Ichiba isn't the most reliable, but they do offer the spacers in a 12mm and 17mm size which I've read is also an option.

How low are you...floor to fender arch?

That I haven't measured, but I will raise or lower my car to make it as flush as possible while still being completely drivable and safe.

I can measure either tonight or tomorrow and follow up.

Currently 24.5 inches front and 25 inches rear from ground to top of arch.

If I remember correctly, 10mm spacers will get you near flush on stockers.

So did you say you are getting extended ARP wheel studs?

Yes. ARP studs will be used.

^Good man! Well, once those are installed you can experiment with anything past 10mm safely if you'd like.

Gville, do you know of any good places to order the ARP studs? Best price I've been able to find is $110 shipped.

Found it somewhere on eBay. There are a ton of sellers with ARP studs.

5mm spacers wont require extended studs correct?

Nope....I think anything over 8mm.

Even if I have aftermarket wheels? The offset is super close to flush. The face of the wheels are flush with the fender but I want them to poke a little so that the tire is almost flush to the fender.
