My car has so many miles on it I'm keeping it stock. So, if I go with oem or such as KYB, Bilstein struts, shocks would it makes the car smooth. Are coilovers such as Tein etc.. Make the car smoother than oem struts and shocks? I have never experience with any GS's on coilovers.
If smoothness is what you want get the shocks at Sewell they sell all 4 very cheap an they are valved different than the aftermarket kyb (yes the lexus ones are kyb but not the same as the gr2) also keep the 16 inch rims and anything you replace put Lexus brand only especially bushings. And most importantly change your broken motor mount (they are broken unless previous owner changed them)

Default Kyb gr-2

I have KYB GR-2 with stock springs. can't tell any different from stock shock. But it's definitely cruise much more stable on highway cruising and much less bouncy. Just don't get it at KYB outle t.....lousy customer service. Oops I meant just suspension.com
Over a year now, and am still happy with the struts.

From kyb website

KYB GR-2® / Excel-G®
twin-tube shocks, struts, and cartridges
Purpose: Restores a vehicle’s originally designed handling and control

Calibrated to compensate for worn suspensions
Components and valving are designed specifically for each application
The best choice to restore OE performance and normal driving conditions
Built with quality that matches or exceeds OE
Coverage for domestic and import cars, trucks, vans, minivans, and SUVs

In other words, not the same as stock. It is slightly stiffer.

I have megan coilovers on mine... car rides so smooth it freaks me out sometimes. But then again I was used to a RSX type S with a built motor and TEIN coilovers set for the track haha... it was a blast to drive, but definitely not the smoothest.
