okay so i bought a set of whiteline steering rack bushing and i went to install them and noticed the bushing are completely different size from the oem one?

the big bushing that goes around the steering rack is a tear drop shaped and the stock one is a half circle? also it does not fit snug around the steering rack so there is a gap when you it is tighten down...

the two bushing are shorter and the metal cylinder is also shorter so it looks like it does not give the full support it should...

did anyone else who purchased this kit have this same issue? i went ahead and installed it best i could cause the two small cylinder ones i kinda damaged it when i took them off and the half circle bushing i had was shot and all ripped up...

is this just how whiteline makes there bushing or did i get the wrong kit? i would not recommend anyone to buy the whiteline steering rack bushing cause fitment is horrible if this is how they make them...

only reason i purchased these was because i did not want to wait and see if tm engineering would send me a set or not cause of all the fuss about them so i decided to go with whiteline and now I'm debating if i should try to buy it from tm engineering and see if i get a set or not? is the steering rack bushing from tm engineering the same size as oem or the same as whiteline?

i also purchased the front and rear sway bar bushing from the same site and they fit perfect like oem...

I was also looking at those Whiteline bushings since there are so few options out there for our cars. It's discouraging to hear your experience.

I ended up going with the Sewell Poly Rack Bushings and experienced the same dissappointing problem as you in that the bushings weren't tight at all. They failed (deteriorated) after a few months of use a while back.

Someone really needs to come out with an alternative.

Bump so the white line bushings do not work properly?

Figs or Battle Version are all I would personally use. I have the Battle Version solid metal bushings and they have added zero harshness or vibration to the wheel.

I know this thread is old but I just want to reiterate that the Whiteline W11970 bushings are NOT a fit despite saying so. I have a 2000 GS300 and ran into the same problems as OP...should have known better and researched them first.

I can confirm that I finally settled on the FIGS steering rack bushings and they worked great. Nice tight fit.

For anyone reading, avoid the Whiteline rack bushings and whatever Sewell used to sell.

Those two are not adequately sized and it's a head scratcher how those two products ever reached market.

Go with FIGS all day.
