Default Finally my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Tires are in!

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Tire Upgrade

After a long 3 months of waiting for these tires on back order (235s - same as Stock 17's), my tire place called me today that they finally came in.

I still can't believe I waited this long for these tires. Sure I could have gone with another tire model and brand, but from all the reviews on this Ultra-High Performance All Season tire, I could not bring myself to settle for any other tire.

I know it's not a true winter tire, but I am hoping that it can do the job for our NJ winters here. Knock on wood!

I am having them installed tomorrow morning and will give you some feedback on how they handle, feel and sound.

Can you believe it? I have 23,000 miles already on my Factory Bridgestone RE030s. I wouldn't buy them again, the loud sound they give off now is really annoying. They definitely are not quiet tires.

Talk to you soon!

I had them installed this morning as reported yesterday.

Eddie / Lexus of Manhattan was right. They do look beefy, mostly due to the design and looks of the tire. It's the same size as the 235s from Lexus. However I like this beefy look. It seems to fill out the wheel well much nicer now for some reason. This is of course just a matter of opinion.

So far, it's early of course, but I guess with new tires, they are always going to be quiet to start off with as well as silky smooth.
These were characteristics missing on my RE030s as they were getting old (24K miles on them!).

Remember I am also going from the RE030s which is a summer tire to an All Season Performance tire, so I am not expecting a huge improvement in handling.

So right now I'm just breaking them in and happy with new tires.

Remember this particular size tire was on backorder for a while, so it took 3 months to come in. They should have them in stock now in case anyone is interested.

More updates soon as I drive around more on them.

By the way, I will take photos and post them on here soon.

Default How Loud?

How loud are the tires? I have yokos AVS dB which howl at 35-50 mph. I can't stand it!

Hey VROMAN13,

Since they are brand spanking new, they are brand spanking quiet and so smooth, from low to high speeds (I can hear myself again and the radio!) But as I accumulate the miles on them, I guess I'll find out how they really hold up. They are not rated as the most quietest tire, but they are up there. I bought them for various reason, mostly due to it was so good in all aspects as an Ultra High Performance All Season Tire. I'll keep you updated as time goes by.

I thought Yoko AVS DB were supposed to be the quietest tires out there? They are known for their quiet ride.

Mr. Johnson,

Thanks for the kind words! What kind of tires are you running now or will be purchasing in the future?

I'm running Michelin Pilot Sports and so far I've been pretty happy with them. I've put about 6K miles on them and they are still quiet and handle well. I had Blizzaks for the winter but I've given up on taking it out in the snow anymore.
