Default Best stock for stock replacement for leaking struts - '06 IS250

Girlfriend's IS250 is at 100K+ and we found out during the last oil check that one of the rear shocks is leaking. I've done some research and have found $$$ replacements but am looking for something more along the lines of stock. She doesn't do anything fun with the car driving-wise so no need to waste the money on her car (I'll save it for upgrading mine). Let me know your thoughts. Links to sites would be great as well, thanks!

There is a similar thread about this already Replacement Shocks-Stock 07 IS 350

F sport shocks and springs will add up to $850+. Stock, non-f sport shocks alone cost about $800. If you wanna go the cheapest way consider Megan EZ coils. Check out the vendors section in classifieds. Circuit will give you a good deal
If you wanna go even cheaper and only rear is leaking then you can order 2 stock shocks just for the rear ~$400. But then again, for a couple hundred more you can have a completely new suspension if you go with Megan's.

F-sport shocks are Bilstien branded shocks if I've read correctly. Definitely worth it if you're not looking to change your ride height.

You don't have to necessarily slam it. Can't you still run stock height with coils or at least close to it?

I would assume yes...you can run a stock-ish ride height on coilovers. Don't know too many actually doing that...but it's just an assumption since the threaded shock bodies on most coilovers have quite alot of adjustability. Honestly, due to ride height and the spring/shock combo you'd be better off with stock or shock-replacement shock/spring setup if riding at stock height.

Tokico HP blue for the IS are supposedly pretty close to the stock tokico sport suspension shocks which run about $236 for a full rear set. $452 for a set of 4. There are guys that have replaced their sport shocks for HP blues and said they feel just like new sports feel.

3 out of 4 my stock Tokico non-sport shocks were leaking at 28k miles. Must have been defective batch or really rough roads.

Are you sure the Tokico HP Blues will fit the IS250? I've been to a couple of automotive parts websites and they don't show them as available for the IS250.

Tokico HP shocks - you can get them through TH Motorsports. Call before you purchase them - mine had to be special ordered...

My 2006 GX470 has one "leaky" strut, which was recommended to replace, with the other side at the same time. Would I also replace rear shocks? My Lexus has 89,700 miles and these issues were noted during the 90,000 timing belt replacement service.
