Default Big Brake Kits vs Ride Height

Guys I had some concerns about info. I've found about BBK's. Particularly the stoptech stuff.

They have 2 kits, or versions of BBK's for our GS. I'm curious to know what makes the difference in this piece of key info.

For Cars Lowered up to 1.0" ( smaller 332x32mm rotor )

vs

For Cars Lowered Up to 2.5 ( larger 355x32mm rotor )

If all the kits use the same caliper and bracket? does it mean the lower I go the bigger BBK rotor I can use? how so? doesn't add up to me.....The 332 kit says for cars lowered "up to" what if I choose to use that rotor size @ a 2.5" drop?

Any help would be appreciated. I'm trying my best to understand and get accustomed to the way Lexus does things.

So it's safe to run any size rotor at any drop, since the caliper is fixed and can accept both a 332 & 355 rotor correct?

I think I'll call them tomorrow and make sure the same bracket is used.

I'm running 13's front and rear with like 5" of drop, and am switching to 14's up front soon. I don't know what they are saying, as the spindle, rotor, caliper, brackets, etc don't get affected in any way with drop.

The only thing I can think of that may come into play, is the length, routing, or holder for the brake lines, as sometimes going alot lower (or lifted) will cause binding/rubbing/stretching of the stock line length/route. But 1", 2" etc is nothing for a drop. I'm running -3an braided lines for a mkiv supra front and rear and there is no issue.

So I finally spoke w/ Stoptech tech support, after a little back and forth, he admitted that the website made no sense. He said, "as long as the template clears your rim, you can use any kit we make for the vehicle."

So JIC anyone needs a templates here are the links, according to the nonsense on their site:

LEXUS GS Series (For Cars Lowered up to 1.0") 1993 - 2005 F ST-40 332x32 83.516.4600.XX 98-515-2450-01_FP.pdf

LEXUS GS Series (For Cars Lowered up to 2.5") 1993 - 2005 F ST-40 332x32 83.518.4600.XX 98-518-2450-00_FP.pdf

yeah as long as the template clears your wheels. doesn't matter the drop, its irrelevant.

I told Stoptech this years ago and its still on their site. lol

I have the 332mm (13") rotors on 18" wheels.

Wheel fitment is your only worry. Not height
