Default Lowering GS400, need advice

Hows it going?

98 GS400

Im planning on lowering it with H&R Sport Springs Front: 1.4" Rear: 1.3"
I replaced all 4 struts with the OEM KYB GR2's, I'm also putting these wheels on: 255/30/20 Offset: +30, now my question is would I need to roll the fenders and cut or gut some plastic panels in the front? So far as of now I'm on the stock suspension and with the 20's it only makes a sound which I assume its rubbing whenever the steering is all the way locked left or right when I'm backing up, no sounds when I'm going forward. Also whats the best size of wheel setup when its lowered on 20's without rubbing issues, I'm planning on picking up a new set of wheels.

Thank you, and sorry for so much questions, Im new to the whole lowering process.

I don't understand why you have rubbing issues before lowering. Theoretically the outside diameter of your tire should be the same as stock your rim is just bigger. Maybe your offset?

Just buy 19's...no one needs 20's on this car

Yeah I was thinking that, offsets are 30 should it be more or less to prevent rubbing? Im planning on going 20x10 rear and 20x8.5 front for my next wheels, what offsets would clear it from rubbing?

If youre on stock struts and just have 20's you should have masssive clearance. That noise youre hearing may not be your wheels rubbing but possibly your balljoints.

Really? Well one thing I can confirm is there are marks in the plastic rocker panel, and it looks like it touches when I have the wheel on hard lock and it only makes that creaking sound when your backing up

what size are your wheels? you said its +30 offsets. you also gave the tire size....255/30/20.

you are probably rubbing the inner wheel liner...and it usually happens when you turn the wheels max to the left or max to the right.

find the area of the rubbing...and use a heat gun (or a very hot blowing hair dryer). Heat up the area of rubbing...then re-shape the plastic liner by pushing the area in...let it cool down to the new shape.....no more rubbing.

Right! I forgot to mention that wheel sizes are 20x8.5 all around, imma give that a shot, I'm assuming this is normal rubbing for all gs' with 20's?

Alright got these 20's that came with the car wheel specs:
F - 20x8.5 255/30/20 Offsets: +30 Nexen N3000
R - 20x8.5 255/30/20 Offsets: +30 Nexen N3000

Im planning on dropping it with H&R Springs
Lowers the Front - 1.4" and Rear - 1.3"

Will it rub?

while +30 is not the most agressive of offsets, it is probably going to rub in the rear if anything. I'd roll the fender lips just to be safe, no need for severe fender pulling I don't think.
