Default Bouncy ride!!!!!!

Hey cl I just installed my RCA(38mm) and dropped my car about half an inch to an inch an now the car ride is frekain BUMPY!!! I mean it's like every single imperfection in the road it bounces nonstop. You can hear the splash guard dragging on the ffloor. Anyway I was wondering if anyone knows what's wrong? Too low? RCA? Bad suspension? Btw I'm on tein flex coilovers with edfc set to stiffest setting

sounds like blown shocks on your coilovers...you could be riding on pure spring action...this is what I experienced long ago....really bouncy ride...no dampening at all....and feeling every imperfection in the road.

Well, idk but sounds like Phml is right cause there is no dampening feel cause it felt the same even when it was at 0(softest) and 16(stiffest)

yea check your shocks.

take em apart n push down on the shock to see how well it extends. then adjust the shock to full stiff/soft n compress to see how fast it extends up.

if it goes up fast or doesnt go up at all than its dead usually

Turns out I had to raise my car when I installed RCA.

You mean you were slammed lower and the UCA was hitting the inner wheel well strut mount?

Glad it wasn't blown shocks. You would know if it was blown...you would see a oil running down the side of the coilover tube.

i think you were just bottoming out and didn't know it.. Teins don't allow the adjustment of the lower shock body. So when you lower your car, you have to adjust the preload of the springs on the coilovers.. what was happening was, the shock was becoming even more compressed than normal due to the drop, and your springs were not compensating for the extra drop.. Which, I think, is why after raising your car back up a little, you added more preload to the suspension, thus giving you a better chance of not bottoming out (or letting the UCA's hit the top of the wheel well).

if tein flex's allow lower shock body adjustment, disregard this post.. lol

Tein flex has dual adjustment. Even if he has single height adjustment, adding RCAs wont change the shock travel. PHML is probably right on the money..it may very well be the uca hitting the fender

why not? wouldn't lowering the car compress the shocks more? Thus having the piston closer to bottoming out?

idk, it just makes sense to me this way.. lol maybe i need to do more research.

Yes but the RCAs does not lower the car by changing the length of the spring. It moves the wheel knuckles upward. The spring/coilover is unaffected.

Pictures would help. Take off your tire and take a pic of the coilover. I had tien flex and rcas and it rode great. Sound like something's not adjusted right.
