Default Best brake and rotor combo?

Need some new brake pads and rotors for my 250, what would be the best combination. Thinking of stoptech rotors and ebc brakes....opinion please?

Best at what? Best in terms of pants?

For normal street use the "best" for performance and service life is any decent name brand blank rotor (centric, stoptech, brembo, OEM, etc) and the low-dust OEM pads.

For the track you'd want slotted (but not drilled rotors- you'll get about 25% shorter pad life this way but the slots are worthwhile for a track, but not street, driven car. Pads you'll want something with better high-temp fade resistance but this often comes at the expense of poor performance when cold/in street use.

For a show car slotted and drilled, while functionally the worst option, look the best. Any pads will do if the car is just sitting on a show platform.

On a track, where you are repeatedly stopping from 120+ mph back to back to back without ever letting the brakes cool, brake upgrades can help a lot with fade resistance and thermal management.

But even the stock brakes won't fade or overheat under any normal street use, so any "upgrade" in stopping power is completely wasted.... The stoptech rotors will work fine, but exactly as fine as the stock ones, or centric premium ones, or brembo ones (assuming they're all blanks, which is the best choice for street use)

If the brakes can engage ABS then "more power" will still stop you in exactly the same distance as the stock brakes will.

If you want to actually stop shorter you need better tires not better brakes.

I highly recommend checking out this article, written by a guy who designs brake systems for a living and has literally written books on the topic... he explains what each element in the braking system does, and why upgrading it will not stop the car any shorter.

He also explains what upgrading each part can do (and it's generally stuff that's irrelevant for a non-track car, other than changing the feel, but not the performance, of the system)
