Default Is my brake booster bad?

I just read some scary threads on the brake booster failing in the GSs and now I am very concerned... Occasionally when I hit the brakes after driving for a while, the booster gives me 'bzzzzzzzz-tick' and it only last for about 5 seconds. To me, it just sounds like it's rebuilding pressure in the brakes. It stops fine, the ABS engages fine (lots of snow driving), and everything feels 100%. My question is, if the brake booster was a-ok, would I not hear this buzz? It is not loud at all, but audible.

Thanks in advance,
Kyle

It is the booster maintaining operating pressure. It is totally normal for it to buzz at startup and during braking or after braking.

You will get abs/vsc lights on the dash if has an issue, and of course the pedal will not feel right if it's actually going out.

I made a video. It will do it every time I give two, full, to-the-floor pumps. Still hardly audible from the cabin.

EDIT: Also, I am most scared the unit will fail suddenly as someones did recently. Is there any signs I can search for before it fails besides the obvious?

That's normal. It's working, it supposed to buzz. That's how it builds pressure.

You might also want to read into the nitrogen can threads if you haven't already.. Some good reading on here.

Mine used to buzz only and now it makes a squealing sound after the buzz.

Looking to replace mine with an 01 or newer unit. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sus...-question.html
