TRD Components New Find?
TRD Components New Find?
Help me out here.
I was perusing the Sewell Lexus Parts site this morning, www.lexus-parts.com, and I came across TRD Stabilizer Bars for the 98 GS400
http://www.lexus-parts.com/partdetai...bCategoryID=65
TRD Stabilizer Bars were developed to minimize body roll during hard cornering. Whether used for performance driving or circuit racing they always ensure the maximum of control without sacrificing ride quality. The hi-performance driver wil linstantly appreciate the stable or "flat: vehicle attitude during hard or high-speed cornering. TRD offers both front and rear stabilizers allowing the user to custom-tune the amount of over or understeer desired. 54% more rigid than Original Equipment
These ARE NOT the same as the TRD AntiSway Bars, (which I do have installed) seen here.
Where do these mount up, and apparently, they replace the OEM components?
BTW, Sewell has a ton of Lexus warez.
Help me out here.

Hmmm. I'm guessing these are for Aristo applications, but will they fit ours? The link below to the TRD site lists the jzs160 NA and jzs161 TC
http://www.toyota-trd.com/en/strt/s_stblzrbar.html
BTW, TRD site has a cool feature I never noticed to sort products by car type ->http://www.toyota-trd.com/en/strt/car_index.html

OK, but the pic of the TRD Sway is actually a "Sportivo" sway.
Arrggghh!!!!
And still, is there a stabilizer bar for the GS4?
Darrell is working on an answer.

Okay Dex, here it is:
The picture that is posted (light blue bars) is totally wrong for the Lexus application! The second picture posted is the correct picture (dark blue) for the part number listed on the lexus-parts.com.
According to two different people at TRD, the application for sway bars is the same for the Aristo/GS300 and the GS400/430 are the same. They both came to this conclusion because the part numbers are the same for both applications.
On another note: the only noticable difference (appearance only) between the TRD sway bars and the Sportivo Set is the color. TRD is blue while the Sportivo set is white.
I currently have the front and rear TRD bars on hand (they were just delivered 15 minutes ago) and yes Dex, they are the bars pictured above that are dark blue. And, I have a set of white Sportivo sway bars on order and should be here in about another couple of weeks. Upon arrival, I will compare the two side by side and see if there is any noticable difference.
Dex, thanks for giving me a heads up!

Steve also sent similar info to me on the same topic, said the stabilizer bars that used to be pictured above come with the Sportivo kit.
Since I hadn't heard of the kit before, I asked what it included and he said "The Sportivo has the TRD shocks, TRD lowering springs and TRD sways, it's a "Street Version" as opposed to the TRD Race sways you have.
It's a milder kit, sways are 31 front and 16 rear..........white in color"
Might be a good option for someone not looking for TOO dramatic a change in ride quality.

I got the blue one on mine not too long ago and it really heavy compare with the factory one. The length and daimeter are the same, but they use heavy duty steel. I don't know how Sewell Lexus can sell both front and rear for $300.00 because I paid way more than that.
