Opinions on Brake Upgrade Please!
Sooooo prolly the next 2-3 months I want to do a fully overhaul of my braking system. Not as big as LS400 or Supra or BBK, but something better than OEM forsure.
So far this is what i'm looking into purchasing. I was on Tire Rack and saw they had some decent prices, so this is what i've decided on..
-: Power Slot Power Alloy Rotors
-: Hawk HPS Street Pads
-: Goodridge SS Brake Lines
In total with shipping looking at about $680.
Any opinions, feedback? Anything/everything will be appreciated. Like I said this will be done in the next 2-3 months, so feedback on these items or opinions on what would be better for around this same range will be great.

Tirerack is hard to beat for pricing, warranty, and customer service - They also guarantee fitment, don't forget good fluid - most good performance motorcycle shops (aprillia, ducati, etc) have motul 600 in stock.

The truth is if you are going to upgrade your rotors for braking performance you shoudl consider getting a 2 piece rotor to separate the heat dispersion. A stock replacement rotor, brembo, cryo, etc won't drastically outperform what you have, if you are going to be tracking your car, buy a stock size 2 piece rotor and a good performance street/auto-x pad and you'll be surprised how much difference it makes.
Contrary to popular believe rotor size has little to do with your braking ability, it's all about how well you can dissipate heat and how much pad surface you can put down.

Also rotor size does help in terms of having the ability to hold more heat before maxing out vs smaller rotors... this of course gets reduced when you start drilling and slotting. Less metal = less heat capacity. Oh and having quality rotors vs cheap rotors makes a big difference in terms of the vents inside the rotors.. Good rotors have directional vents that help air flow in and out.. the cheaper brands that are universal (left/right) have straight vents that arnt really good compared to directional ones.
of course this doesnt matter much of you are only DD youre car :3

Whoa, didn't expect so much feedback in so little time, lol!!
Well I would quote everyone, but my response is basically for everyone..
Brian that is exactly what i've got coming in.. I got a price on a LS400 upgrade that I just could not pass up that included new Hawk HPS pads, rotors, and of course the calipers.. Got that coming in for the front, so now i'm just going to upgrade my rear rotors and pads along with SS lines all the way around and call it a day on this whole brake thing.
Thank you all for your info and help. Much appreciated.

I just installed R1 concepts premium slotted rotors & ceramic pads and I can definitely tell a diff over stock. And it only cost $350 delivered. 20% off special was nice also
