Default Clunk while braking

Hey guys,
I searched the forums but couldn't find anything just like it so I figurede I'd post.

Whenever i brake, I hear clunking from the front passenger side of the car...only when I brake however....doesn't matter what speed, if the wheel is turned, etc. Anyone know what this could be? It's starting to drive me insane

Not sure if im describing the issues you are having since you are having a clunk noise not a click noise. when i leave my house in the morning I have to back out of my driveway to the road where i slow to a stop and put the car into drive. I then drive forward for about a block and slow to a stop for a stop sign. Once i touch the break pedal I get a click noise from the front brake pads.

It was explained to me that if the break pads have some decent miles on them and have not been warmed up that the pad floates in the caliper causing the click noise after changing direction. Fix is new pads

Could check the passanger shock too, but i would think that if the shock was blown it wouldn't cause the noise only while breaking, but also over uneven surfaces.

I've heard of this complaint before and Lexus said it is due shifting pads within the caliper while under braking. The fix might be new pads and new shim kit.

Is it a single "clunk" ? I know my wife had an issue like this. Every time she applied the brakes it would go clunk. Let go and apply again, Clunk. It ended up being a bent pin in the brake calipers and it was not holding the pad secure. No harm or safety issue but loud and annoying. Replaced the pin and all is good.

Have you talked to your local shop?

i am having that on my es 350 passenger side as well, it starts clunking noise when breaking in a curve, and continues with brakes applied even breaking on a straight line afterward. and it is very heavy clunk-clunk-clunk noise with some response in the steering wheel
