Default Need advice

My lexus started making a clicking sound when i apply on the brakes. I have new pads rotors. And ever since that ive been hearing a buzzing sound while im driving, seems like its coming from my abs system just guessing. Usually it only makes the buzzing sound when i turn my car off. Help.

Return of the dead..

Nah not yet, car has been in my garage for a year. doing some major upgrades and it's taking me a while. I'll try to remember to update this when I discover and fix the problem.

Nope, stock suspension.

This could be wrong, but I think you will get the ABS light on the dash if the wires are damaged. If the tone ring is bad, you won't get a light if the sensor itself is working correctly. On my car, no ABS/VSC lights are on and I don't have any error codes stored either.

Just to update this thread the problem was whats called a "dust boot, ring". It is pressed into the real axle carrier and along with another ring that is pressed into the drive axle cover over the ABS sensor ring. When the rear axle carrier begins to rust (especially in the North East), the rust pushes the boot ring out (the ring is of a different metal). As the ring is pushed out it comes into contact with the ABS sensor ring esentially grinding it down. This is causes an ABS malfunction and is the root cause of the "buzzing" sound when you step on the brakes. You can verify if you have this problem by performing an onboard ABS diagnostic and removing the sensor for the wheel in question to check for heavy metal shavings that will have attached themselves to the magnetic ABS sensor.
There is an orignal thread on the subject around here somwhere.
