Default For those of you with Daizen Bushings...

If any of you have had your bushings for a while, what is your experience so far? Is it worth it?

I have had the sway bar bushings on my car for almost a year now. The reason I switched the OEM bushings out is because of squeaking. But maybe a few months after, I got the same squeak again. I had the mechanic lube them up but maybe a week later the squeaks came back.

Anyhow, I have some control arms in the house with daizen bushings pressed into em that I got from a member on here about a year ago. I'm really trying to figure if I will be getting the same "squeaks" with the control arms.
The sway bar bushings, although annoying as hell, they make steering a bit more responsive... ( Or is it the Placebo effect? )

BTW I live in brooklyn, horrible roads, potholes every 10 seconds... yadda yadda yadda.

So should I bother to swap these in? My left control arm ball joint is done for and I gotta replace em soon.

i have had them for a while now,, still no noises, sharpens up your steering, but i wish i had stuck with the OEM bushings. Reason being i miss the good old smooth ride and also when in the rain if you are doing over 65-70 mph the car will track cause the fitment of the bushes isnt perfect and it creates a little bit of play,in the dry its fine but when in rain that play can throw you off track a little at higher speeds.. yes the bigger wheels are also affecting this but it should not do this, car is perfectly aligned.

bowflex, if I decide to, I'll let you know

bilaco, what component did you put the bushings on your car? (Upper control arms? Lower control arms? Caster arms? all the above?)

I did all besides the control arm #1. Got rid of most of my vibration and now have very stiff responsive steering. The drawback is same as everyone else, car drives more like lets say an AUDI A4 or a BMW m3 instead of a Lexus. No longer an old mans car and I like it.

Good thread OP...was wondering the same. I can see out of the few replies that it comes down to personal preference.

What about longevity of the Daizen vs. OEM ?

im sorry pizdets I really dont know which arm is control arm #1 is it an upper ?

and when you say drawback, are you referring to the squeaks? I've read that in cold temperatures, the squeaking occurs, you live in calgary, so how is it? do you lube it often?

no squeaks at all. Make sure the installer has a brain and lubes the sh&t out of them. I did caster arms and upper arms but not the other control arm.

one more thing, how are the roads up there? probably not as bad as NYC im betting

reason I ask is the harshness of the road causing the car to feel rough

Roads are crap, potholes and crack everywhere as the city can go from -20 to +10 in a matter of hours causing cracks in asphalt.

People are having issues with ploy bushings squeaking due to the use of inferior grease. the ideal grease to use for poly bushings is Green Grease

http://www.greengrease.net/

It is waterproof, heat proof & only needs to be applied once.

I greased my bushings this this stuff during install and I've experienced zero squeaks & zero re-application of grease.

Isn't it just the Control Arm 1 Daizen Bushing that Squeeks? I thought the Caster Arm and Steering Rack Bushings were squeak free. Also, has anyone ever replaced the Steering Rack with OEM bushings instead of the Daizen? And Billaco, I thought there was no play with the Daizen bushings since you are supposed to tighten them in there so they cannot move?
