Default Regarding Lowering My Lexus

Hello!

This is my first time posting on this forum. I've had my 2001 Lexus GS300 for about 4 months, and I love it. I have decided that I would love to start modding it now. Unfortunately, I am not car savvy at all I was debating whether to do something with the exhaust or lower the car. Ultimately, I decided that I would like to lower my car right now. I have researched and researched, and there is only so much I can find.
I have settled either on Tanabe DF210 spring or an Eibach Pro Kit. Any suggestions on which to go for? Also, I found out that I might have to install new shocks if I would like to install springs? I am not sure on this. But any advice to point me in the right direction would surely be appreciated!

First of all, the DF will lower your car more than the Eibach. The comparable spring to the Eibach that Tanabe offers is the NF210.

If you're on the original shocks, you'll most likely need new shocks to go with the springs. At this age, they may not dampen as well anymore.

Of course you'll have people telling you to spend more on a set of coilovers because it offers height adjustment. The cheaply priced coilovers such as the Megan EZ/LP are about $650-750 while you can get a set of used spring/new shocks for about $450-500.

If you never ever need to change the ride height, then save the money by going with the shock/spring system. If you think you'll be going lower in the future, then get the coilover. There is no right or wrong way to go, as long as it meets your criteria.

I definitely appreciate the information! I am hoping to purchase everything by tomorrow, if not Monday, so that I can get them installed next week.
Is there any chance you know if GR2 KYB Shocks will suffice if I purchase the Tanabe DF210? I was thinking about purchasing those springs and shocks.

If you are going with DF then you should get Blistein for shocks. KYB are too soft and you will bottom out.

I also advise you to get new shocks with your lowering springs. Your old shock will most likely blow soon after.

Not to threadjack, but I'll be lowering my GS with Tein S-techs soon. (with KYB Excel-G / GR-2 shocks)

I have OEM HIDs.
Is there anything to be done to the self-leveling system of the headlights? Or do I just have to re-adjust them?
