Front Stock Shocks defective - PERFECT EXCUSE for Coilovers?
So I recently bought myself an 01' IS300 and joined this comunity. The car had some cosmetic defects and needed some TLC. Currently getting the wheels painted and when removing the front wheels we noticed the front shocks are in very bad condition so I thought i would use this as a perfect excuse to buy coilovers.
Because realistically i cant afford more then $700 for coilovers I'll have to look into a not best quality setup. Which is why I'm reaching out to you and ask for your opinion on these choices:
Looking on ebay i've found these:
- B+G coilovers:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/B-G-B...Q5fAccessories
- TEIN Basic coilovers:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TEIN-...Q5fAccessories
- MEGAN Racing EZ series:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Megan...Q5fAccessories
Personally i've never had coilovers in the past. I've actually lowered my previous cars by simply getting springs but in this case since the shocks are bad i guess i could take the coilovers route.
Any suggestions will be appreciated

Mou, at first i was looking into just replacing the shocks but the price range is around the same (maybe $50-$100 less) than the set of coilovers i listed above. Then again, i dont know how good these coilovers will be

I heard nothing good about cheap coilovers, but then again I've never had a set so I can't give an opinion. I don't regret getting konis+teins though, ride is great and gives me a nice drop. Also, konis have a lifetime warranty

Yeah Tein basics is all you really need.
Ride quality is a little stiff and everything kinda like a honda, but oh well, can't really expect a really smooth ride in a lowered car unless you're on air.
Yeah if you look around you can find used coilovers on classifieds section for $600 or less

I keep hearing good things about the Tein baics and just came across this review on the Megans EZ just in case someone else is also considering low end coilovers

I still havent made up my mind but now at least i've narrowed it down to tein & megans
