Default I need some advice.

So u just took in my gs 300 in for service because i brake light came on. i took it to a mechanic in my neighberhood to see whats wrong, and hes telling me i only need pads. But he said i also need new upper control arms, new hub bearings and a wheel allighnment. My car has 130,000 miles on it. The ride is a little too bumpy at times and i always here a knocking sound when i hit bumps. The mechanic said it will cost around 1100 bucks. Is this right or is this guy trying to hustle me? That price does sound a bit steep. I just wanted some advice?

I am not sure i understand what you are getting for $1100. Pads for front and rear? Is he using OEM parts?

There is a write up on here on how to change the brakes pads, it only requires a jack and basic hand tools.

Based on Sewell's prices for CL members (this is all based on a 2000 GS300):

UCA - $649.00
Front pads - $47.62
Hub Bearings (L&R) - $$59.30/each
Alignment - +/- $100

Considering that your total for Lexus parts are your cost is about $915, $1100 is a great deal. I am willing to bet that he is NOT going to be using OEM parts though.
