After swaping what do you guys think old rims or new rim make the brakes come out more?

The pics are in alternating order of back and silver Vossen wheels ... not sure which wheels are the "before" and which are the "after"

(I like the silver ones BTW..)

Hey I actually really like this concept, IS350 front and IS-F rear, goes well. I think they stand out more with the new wheels

If you don't mind me asking, how much were just the rear calipers? Thanks.

It's pretty to look at, but he doesn't have any more "stopping power" than he did before... the brakes don't stop the car, the tires do.

The only thing I'm "hating" on is a lack of understanding of brakes and physics.

Your brakes stop the car in exactly the same distance they did with the OEM brakes.

Because the brakes don't stop the car, the tires do.

Bigger brakes don't change stopping distance. Neither do more pistons, or magic brake pads.

Unless you track the car, it's all for show.
(And if you do, they still don't reduce stopping distance, but they can do other things for you that are only useful on the track)

And no doubt, the upgrade is very visually attractive. It just doesn't change how quickly your car stops, and I'd hate for others to run out and drop a bunch of $ on brakes thinking it does.

If you'd like a better understanding of all this, and what brake upgrades can, and can not actually do, I'd recommend reading this article by a guy who has literally written books on the topic-

And you have fun dumping tons of cash on "upgrades" that don't do what you think they do... ignorance, as they say, is bliss

Brembo, Stoptech, and pretty much anyone else who actually knows anything about brakes agree with me though.

If you ever wish to actually learn something though, that link I posted is pretty good start... so would looking up the formula to compute stopping distance.... you'll notice how it doesn't ask anything about your rotors or brake pads...since they make no difference to stopping distance.
