Default Need ideas for brake upgrades!

A couple of weeks ago my AC went out on my 92 SC300. The dealership replaced the AC but during a routine inspection found that my rear brakes need to be replaced soon for about 2000 dollars. Instead of paying the money to replace the current stock brakes, I am looking for a brake upgrade. Brake rotors which are slotted and drilled also a colored caliper.

Either
- just upgrading the rear brakes then later my fronts
OR
- buying a complete front and rear brake kit

My research has either only found front brakes kits or front and rear brake kits that are only slotted. My SC has 17 inch after market rims so a big brake kit for the front is an option. If you would please help my out.

LS BBK...enough said. can be had for a 1/4 of the cost of what you listed above from the dealer, and are usually easy to obtain..just have to have the wheels to clear them.

What they said, LS brakes go super cheap. $2000 for some factory brakes is outrageous.

If you want to keep the stock size with cross drilled and slotted rotors, Lextreme is selling R1Concepts stuff on their site now. You could get all new rotors, calipers and pads for well under half of what the dealer is asking.

LS400 front brakes and rotors are the way to go. I have a extra set that I think I will sell. (LS400 front calipers and LS400 front OEM rotors from a 1998 LS400 with 94,000 miles) All are in real nice shape. Let me know if you want them. draytonwebb@yahoo.com
