I'm not sure if anyone have thought about this but would the full-size spare wheel in our trunk fit over the LS400 caliper? I'm afraid not and I recommend carrying a set of 25mm 60.1 bore hubcentric wheel adapter for this reason in case we have a flat in one of the front wheels.

I picked up a spare IS350 rim to clear the brakes since they're easy to find. With the full size steelie, I'd be concerned if the inner diameter can even fit over the brakes. Steel rims generally have a smaller I.D. compared to an alloy wheel of the same size. If you don't have stock wheels, then remember to keep 5 oem lug nuts to use the stock spare.

Pardon the super crude measurement with my measuring calipers, but this is photo evidence why an LS400/Supra TT BBK isn't advisable using the OEM 2GS 17" wheels without a spacer.

The clearance between the GS brake caliper bracket and OEM 17" GS five-spoke wheel is very small.

I was in a rush to get the picture, so I didn't lock the calipers and I measured small. Even if we're being generous, there may be at most 5.5mm between the caliper bracket and wheel spoke. The distance I measured, which leaves a tiny bit of extra space for a little peace of mind, is 3.94mm.

Reviving an old thread with this post, but CL has been such a great resource for me! I’m using LS calipers on my GS. I picked up a set of GT500 style wheels (19x9.5 +35), and there’s plenty of clearance.

I can confirm (as their on my car) that the 3rd Gen GS 5-spoke rims do fit over LS400 calipers. My rims are the 18x8 rims off a 2006 GS430.
