please move this to suspension thread. my bad... i forgot. and i found the thread on the vendor who sells it. anyone have any experience with air ride?

aliu603 02-13-10 10:30 PM

i dont personally have any experience but it's useful if your roads are crappy in places or some entrances to places you normally have to go are really steep...cost wise will probably set you back close to 4gs...installation alone is about a grand. ride quality would be awesome but you always run the risk of your bags leaking which would mean your whole car would just sag down on the spot

Which vendor are you going with? There's a couple available - UAS, KSport, etc.

Here's the thread in the 2IS forum about air suspension.

Air runner is the way to go. Kinda pricey but its all worth it. $4000+ install. PM TrendyTodd

AR if you have the money. UAS if you don't that's around 2k. KSport is FTL.

If you're into performance and daily driving, coilovers or spring/shocks are the way to go. If you are simply into looks, airbag setup is the way to go. Make sure you are mechanically inclined to fix things on the fly. Air line leakage and such happens.

^^^ Well said bro.

to Jonjon comment of AR=jdm or nothing..

I am the kind that don't care about jdm. I don't go to meets, i don't hang out with people who know about cars or any of that stuff..

Why am i supposed to care about jdm? Or about "getting the best AR?? I like to mod my car for myself but 4k is way too much IMO. Now if i can get the "cheaper" kits for say 2k then i might consider it..

Im not trying to be an a$$.. i just feel that im missing something in your point of view. Why should i care about AR when i can get another brand for almost half? Is that other brand just plain out bad quality and will break easy?? what am i missing?

Or is it that i grew up super poor and just having a lexus is good enough let alone a modded one..

^^Good luck getting a kit for just $2k. You think buying a UAS kit and installing it is good enough?! haha well GL to that too. Cause I spent pretty much almost $4k with UAS and Tanabe coils just to get the ride to where it's at and now its just about right to me.

But if I had to do it all over I'd go straight to AR and call it a day cause in the end you're going to spend that kind of money anyways. Like you, I'm not trying to be an ass just giving you the heads up.

I'm also thinking about going on Air. How many problems have you guys with AR encountered? (Also, how long have you had the kit?)
I know AR is the best kit, but like many other people, I have some hesitation due to the consequences of a leak or malfunctioning bag...

-Thanks for the info!
