Default Akebono ProACT Vs Stock Brake Pads

Hi Folks,

How does the stopping power fare as compared to stock brake pads?

The past threads mentioned on low brake dust, but no one talk about this... Cos usually low brake dust = less "bite" or lower stopping power.

A check on tirerack.com indicated the stopping power is not on good performance side.

I want to hear from the community here... Quite a no. on akebono proAct.

Brake pads have absolutely nothing to do with stopping power.

They CAN change the "feel" of the brakes, but the car will still stop in exactly the same distance.

The brakes don't stop the car, the tires do. If you want to stop in less distance put better tires on the car.

I have the ACT ceramic pads, performance wise - they are obviously much better then OEM pads, not to mention the break dust they shed is not as much as OEM pads

You'll love them, especially with the 4 piston advics calipers from the 350.. they bite hard.
