Official Lexus SC Coilover Thread

Does this place have a thread dedicated to coilovers? I thought it would be cool to have one to help out people, including myself, that are planning on buying some.

State which ones you bought and your general review on the set and if you would buy them again.

Also give an overview on how stiff or soft they are overall.

PSM/PBM coilovers

Made for drifting and is stiff even at the softest dampening setting. I love that it has the ability to go hella low. for $1000, best bang for the buck. no regrets going with PSM/PBM.

Where can you pick up a set?

Tein RA , monoblocks, super light... rides nice....

We can get all the popular brands if you guys are interested.

We can also give suggestions for setups if need be as well, we do a lot of coilover business.

You all should look into BC Racing (BCR) coilovers. As far as bang-for-buck goes, they are hard to beat, even by the bigger names.

Had Tein CS, hated it. It's fine if you don't plan on any type of aggressive driving, and even then if you do it for just the slammed look, you'll bottom out. Valving on the shock is not matched to the spring rates and wouldn't buy again.

New is the Top Secret(Aragosta shocks/Swift springs). Love them, though I wish I had ordered them with a stiffer spring rate had I known that they'd be so compliant even though they're the road race version and are rated 16kg/12kg, along with my Ikeya Formula suspension arms (no rubber bushings).

finding the cheapest coilovers usually isn't the best route.
remember, the "You get what you pay for" should come to mind with almost every purchase of any type mechanical component you put on your car. now this isn't something you have to consider to every little thing, but common sense will tell you that buying some $400 ebay coilovers will get you some pretty horrible coilovers.
super cheap prices can usually tell what the quality is, unless if it's been reviewed by hundreds of customers and the item really is a bang for your buck.

Can I run the BRC coils designed for the Supra MKIV because I would have better value for them here in Finland if I want to sell them used some day.
Also my bro has a Supra so that's one reason.

What set up would you recommend I want to go low and tires are 225/35/19 19*8 ET30 and 245/35/19 19*9 ET35 don't want to rub and have to have a minimum of 80mm to the ground from the lowest point of the car.

Would the 14kg/mm 10kg/mm or the 14/8 spring rates be better for a daily driver ?
