Most places have replaced the early versions for the later versions but if you want to sure just order for 2003-2005.

The part numbers are: 4867030281 and 4866030281

That's what I just put on my '98. They were definitely bigger than my old ones. Sewell Lexus had a real good price with the Clublexus discount.

So is there anything else I need for it to fit? Or all I need is 2 Lower control arms (one for each side) and it will fit fine?

There is no difference in installation. The difference is that the new ones have more meat and rubber. The bolt holes and bushings are the same. Just take out the old ones and put in the new ones.

ok cool so I can just ask for the 2003 GS300 lower control arms? I wonder why they didnt just replace the 99 with the 2003 one instead of letting you buy the crappy one again.

Different Caster Arm (Lower Control Arm #2) from 98 to 2005
4867030240 for 1998
4866030281 for 2005

Just make sure you order part #4866030281

Thats why I feel like its not meant for the 99 if it was wouldnt they have been smart enough to sell that part instead of the other part. Unless they were too cheap to throw away the other parts.

No, you understood what I said wrong. You want to get the newer part. Not the 98 part. The newer part will fit perfectly, and it is more durable that the 98 part. The Arm still takes up the same amount of space, I think Bushing is just a bit larger.

That's why I said earlier that some places have already superceded the '98 part number with the newer part number, other places have not. I am only assuming that this may be because they still have old stock, which will work fine, just won't last as long. Check lexuspartsnow.com website and you will see they have suprceded the partnumbers.

es350 2010 shares the same parts? btw, anyone in norcal changing up their LCA, don't throw it away, I'll pick it up. I wanna use it to make a custom LCA (of course, I'll need to find a good shop to make it for me lol).

Hey all, I've been reading threads for days!!!!! This one is great. I am gonna buy those l/r along with LBJ's . Just wanted to know if I'm missing something. I got a clunking/popping noise when I turn left while pressing the brakes slow speed. Striaght and over bumps nothing. I get the shakes at 57 MPH + sloppy too. I'm changing my shocks and struts adding df210 springs. I read the whole ball joint thread and now I'm freaking out! I have 2 small kids to worry about. Did i leave anything that should be changed or replaced? thanks

@ Coco at least you didn't go to ROOOOORHMAN

My Lexus of Manhattan receipt from today shows 48660-30240 - should I return it for the 48660-30281 tomorrow?? kind of urgent, since the mechanic is about to install them.

Great thread here, lots of ideas and thoughts, but has anyone fixed the clunking sound without replacing every thing in the front end ? Lol could someone that's replaced something like ball joints, sturts, bushings ect. let me know if it solved the problem. Thanks for the reply look forward to hearing back from you.
