Default 2005 GS430 Rear Brake tools

Hello all,

I am a fairly new owner of a 2005 GS430.

Recently my rear brakes have been squeeking. I jacked her up and removed the wheels. When trying to remove the caliper i saw what looks like Torx bolts.

Anyone know what size they are?

What size torx bits do i need to complete this job? I have a good amount metric sockets and allens but this is my first torx encounter on a brake job....Needless to say I have only had this car for 6 months...

I think you are looking at the wrong bolts. There will be two metric bolts behind the caliper. I think they are 13 or 14. Then the caliper will come off the bracket.

Thanks i did a bit of further searching and it looks like i dont even need to take the calipers off at all.

If im looking at the right thread, it says to remove the anti squel spring and pad guide pin and ill be able to get to the pads. Then push the piston in and install new pads.

Sure thing. Take off the cap in your master cylinder before you try to push them apart.

What should I use to push them apart?

And any tips for dealing with all the brake pad clips?

And lastly, can anyone give me a procedure for dealing with the rear e-brake so it doesn't get in the way of my pad replacement? What's the best way to adjust the ebrake properly after pad replacement?

I have used a G clamp to compress the piston.
When I was replacing rear pads, e-brake wasn't a concern hence it shouldn't be for you as well.
Good luck!

After reading the question you originally asked and some of the answers, I highly suggest that you take your car to a workshop and pay then to do the work. If you are looking at that rear caliper and think you have to undo the torx bolts to change the pads, leave the brakes alone please! If you are not sure what you are doing, brakes should be left to the experts. I am sorry, but you scare me.........very much.
