Getting F-Sport Suspension Installed Tomorrow!

Very excited. I'm getting my F-Sport shocks, springs, and sway bar set installed tomorrow at Exact in Milpitas. That's everything except the rear brace! I just wanted to share my excitement :) If you are in the area and are bored, I anticipate being at the shop for quite some time while everything's being installed.

I read quite a bit about the clunk issue-- luckily John at Exact carries the Tein silencers.

you wont regret it!

How much are they charging you for labor?

VikH 09-11-09 04:28 PM

Everything arrived okay for ya? Should be sweet with all the F-sport goodies!

Thanks VikH! The shocks are at my doorstep right now-- I'll check them out tonight but I'm sure everything's OK :) I'll leave you a rating tonight. I got the rest of the parts from Sewell.

Congrats. John and Sandy are good people. I had my F-Sport shocks, springs, sways and exhaust installed by them too. I've never had a problem with the clunk issue, they did a good job. Post some pics soon!

Springs don't settle. Bushings do, and only if they're not installed correctly to begin with (ie reset to neutral as per the service manual).

John knows his stuff...glad you had him install your suspension.

So how do you like the ride now?

KI_GSE21 09-12-09 11:39 PM

Let us know what you think once you have all the suspension goodies installed. :)

My bad, I mean't to say bushings, I just couldn't remember lol. Nice catch tho. :)

ALRIGHT! Installation went perfectly, thanks to John @ Exact Motorsports in Milpitas. Also thanks to VikH for his old F-Sport shocks :) The rest of the parts came from Sewell.

All I can say is: WOW! I think ALL body roll is gone. The car also looks noticeably better, 1" lower.

Ride quality is still very good, though big bumps on the freeway do get transmitted into the cabin. I can also feel more of the road through the steering wheel. I had John throw on a pack of Tein rubber silencers on each rear spring (see pics). NO CLUNK in any situation!

Everything is very quiet, I think even quieter than stock, when rolling at normal speeds. Stability seems much improved at high speeds (75MPH+) and car responds very directly to steering input. Very very pleased with thte outcome.

Some iPhone pics -- and a few pics of the parts close up.

Took my normal commute this morning-- I can really feel the difference. Everything is so effortless and it's actually fun to follow a line now :) I can just barely clear parking bumps, but, I can't clear curbs.
