I cheat a little. I put the car on four jackstands, loosen the bolts on the corner I want to reset, put a jack under the knuckle and raise it until the corner just starts to come off the jackstand. I give it a little bounce, then I tighten the bolts on the corner I'm resetting. Move to the next corner and repeat until all four are done.

When you lower a car and fail to do this, the bushings are stressed at their normal ride height, and extra stressed when the car is loaded. This softens the bushing more rapidly because it is deflecting more than it should be. It can also lead to premature bushing failure, but it won't happen quickly.
How do we know if the bushings need replacing?
How do we replace the bushings with new ones?

The brake line is only a holder bracket. It's just hand tight. Those are usually ~10 ft/lbs.

Which bushing is affected? I kind of get the procedure, but not sure the bushing this is directed for.

Do the bushing have to be reset when simply replacing the shocks and not lowering the car?

I am thinking of replacing the shocks on my 2007 IS 250 with 95,500 and going with the F-Sport shocks but I live in Minnesota and don't want to lower it as I drive in the snow all winter long.

If I replace just the shocks (F-Sport or Stock OEM) and do not lower the car at all, do I also need to reset the bushings?

Thanks!
Jason

Does anyone have the diagram to reset the bushings in the front for a AWD IS?
