Default Question about Gixxer Drew Suspension

I have all the pieces finally but my question is:

On The Coilover sleeve, Can I cut the lip out with a lathe as opposed to cutting the bottom 8 threads off?

i cut the lip out with a dremel on a set of 5" a-1 sleeves. Only way to make that setup work. even with the short sleeve it can drop down to zero suspension travel. Personally i would just cut it. sorry best advice i can give you

Sounds like I'm a little late on the response, but yes, you can machine the sharp lip off the inside of the sleeve. This was mentioned in the Supraforums thread.

That's what I did. I think it makes measuring the drop more consistent because you're working off the same base point (i.e., bottom or top of the sleeve).

Here's a pic of my intact sleeves...
