life expectancy of stock shocks
Hi Guys,
I have a IS 250 RWD base model and is planning to install eibach pro-kit. The new springs will put more stress on my stock shocks but do you guys know how much will it effect its life expectancy?
Did any of you actually blow your stock shocks when using just lowering springs?
just wondering,
Thanks everyone!

I'm not sure any IS250/IS350 have replaced worn out shocks yet, but the car just came out as model year 2006.
Maybe somebody can chime in with news of actual replacement of worn shocks, since some of the cars have high mileage...........................................

do a search.
there were a few ppl who had to replace shocks that went early for no apparent reason.
1 was lowered on H&R springs.
it's a rare occurence but they can fail pretty early.
it also seems they have a tendency to leak.
lexus won't replace the bad shocks until they are really covered in leaked oil before replacing them under warranty
LuboxRacer put up a nice diagram showing how lexus technicians will visually inspect them to see if they need to be repaced.

20k+ on s-techs; no issues w/ stock shocks.
most lowering springs for the 2is should only accelerate wear and tear on the shocks.
seeing as to how f-sport springs can be matched to stock shocks and retain factory warranty, premature failure is within the realm of possibility but should be considered the exception and not the norm.
