Default Hours to Intall L-Tuned?

Getting ready to install my L-Tuned Shocks and Springs. Lexus dealer wants 5 - 6 hours at $80/hour, + alignment. How difficult is it and has anyone had a 3rd party install their setup?

I have an excellent shop near me, all ASE Certified Mechanics. They had done good work on my LS400. So...how tough is it to change over the suspension? Any thing to watch out for? Or should I just pay the Lexus Stealer?

Thanks as usual

Welcome to the Club, Murph.

Since you have purchase the L-Tuned Shocks and Spring.. (I guess you must have have concern with warranty of after market parts.) You are better off let Lexus Dealer installed them.. If dealer installed the L-Tuned parts, they will not void the warranty. But if 3rd party installed the L-tuned parts.. they will void the warranty on ur car.. your called.. save $300.. and deal with problem with dealer... cause I know.. I have problem getting my car services in Watertown Lexus.

P.S.. where is Boxton, MA?

M - that's about in line with my dealer install.

I don't think it is difficult per se, but it is labor intensive from what I gather...having to compress the springs, or something like that..coming on and off the car.

Hi Shinchan and Dex,

Thanks for your advice. I spoke with service advisor again at Ira Lexus in Danvers and he told me that he looked into it further for me and found out that they'll do it for $400 complete. Some kind of deal they worked out with Lexus for people who want to tune their GS's. Seems that there's more of us than you think!

They also have deals on intakes and other fun stuff as well. He also told me they're doing 5+ intakes/week on IS and GS cars.

Shinchan: Boxford is North of Boston near Topsfield and North Andover.

I love my GS. I've always been a "big V8" kind of guy. All my cars both fun and serious have been V8 powered. Since I have 3 teenagers I had to sell my Corvette. I remember what I did to my Dad's Mustang GT so no way these kids will drive my Vette or my GS!!!

$400 for install and alignment is a great price from the dealer. Go for it.
