A whistle from where???
Front right wheel is whistling...but when I apply brakes it stops.
Usually after I've been driving it for 15 minutes (heating up?) and only at speeds <40mph. Is this the rotor? the caliper? the pad? Any ideas on what to get fixed? I took it to Midas and they said nothing was wrong buuuuuut I hear otherwise. Thanks CL. |

I'm sitting on 19s, 245s in the front, I just replaced my wheel bearing for the front left because it was 'clunking', is the hub bearing a completely different thing? |
It's the same thing and I'd think it would have something to do with the brakes
|
Is the wheel or caliper very hot after driving for a while, is there excessive where on the pad in that corner?

Put the car in the air and spin the wheel, see if the pad drags, see if you hear the noise and can pinpoint the location, if nothing take the wheel off and have someone work the brakes, see if the bite and move away like they should.

Will do UZZ

That's also why i don't believe it's brakes. It's because brakes would heat up to temperature very quickly and are not related to the temp of the engine. |
Ohhh, I'm sorry QwkSC, it only squeaks UNDER 40mph, sorry for misleading.
Also, only the smallest press of the brake pedal and it stops. It is VERY loud, it doesn't change pitch. Thanks for all the help guys, I'm going to get it jacked up within the next couple of days and see if I can spin the wheel and get the same sound, we'll take it from there. Cheers. |

I have the same thing happening to me. But it the rear left wheel. Sounds like a very loud metallic scrapping sound. Usually happens when I first start driving. I lifted the car, spun the wheel and could not here a thing. I you figure it out, and If I do first I'll post it up in here.

My brothers 2IS had something like this he solved the problem by going at 60 and slammed the brakes 60 - 0 and it stopped i'm not sure if that will work for your car. Please inform us whats the problem!
