Are Tokico the most comfortable
 

Are the Tokico blues the most comfortable/stock ride you can get for the SC300?

In order of comfort I would rate most comfortable to be OEM shocks, KYB GR2, then Tokico.

really..........everything I have read says that the KYB's are not as comfy as the Tokico...hmm interesting. I wish the OEM's werent so damn expensive

I have Tokico blues with Espelir springs and I am surprised how comfortable the ride is being soo low.

I have them with tanabe springs and the ride is close to stock, just with better handling.

I plan on keeping the stock springs, do you think that will make a huge difference? One thing I always wondered is do springs go bad?

I have tokicos w/ stock springs and the ride is not very oem like. Actually, I'm on 16" supra na wheels which are wider so that may have hindered my comfort.

now are these for the supra or actual sc? found the shocks for $300 and the springs for $340. looking for a nice comfortable drop.

I'm starting to wonder if I should look into KYB's because all I want is comfort because this is going to be my daily driver. The cheapest I found the OEM's for is $160 each.

Do you think going after market with the springs will improve the ride quality? Right now I think anything will be better than what I have now...............12 year old struts and control arms lol, I know my LCA bushing are shot so when I replace the struts I'm going to be changing the LCA's as well.

I have supra oem tokico's and supra eibachs and the ride is very comfortable. Gives the car a more sporty ride. Get them!!!! Haha.....

If you were local I would let you ride in my car to see how the ride quality is. Maybe a local CL member can do that for you.

OEM is the way to go if you want pure comfort. Get the 97 rears as they are roughly $60/each and the fronts are roughly $120/each. Total with shipping and applicable taxes would probably make it a little over $400. Not sure how much KYB GR2 and Tokico HP go for nowadays, but see if you can justify the extra cost for the OEM set. Installation is also key so the shock is fully utilized and not riding on the rubber bushing, but thats another topic.;)

What OEM model do we have for shocks?

The spare set of 99 oem shocks I have sitting here say Toyota on them. Earlier models may be branded differently.

I was thinking of going with the Eibach Pro Kit and KYB GR2's. Anyone have any experience with that setup. I want to lower a little without being to much of a problem with clearance. Also don't want to get beat to death.:uh:

Yeah Supra Tokico's and Eibach springs will give you a good drop, still have a nice ride and definitely give it a sportier feeling too.
