IS350 (brake) Upgrade on IS250

New front and rear rotors. New front pads, the rear pads are the same with the 250/350. Metal cutting sheers and a hammer to cut and modify the front dust shields and just a hammer to modify the rear dust shields for rotor clearance. While you're at it, new brake fluid to to flush out the air bubbles and old fluid. If you are buying used 350 calipers, make sure you take them apart first to make sure they do not have rust, I had to rebuild my calipers before using them,

XSV, Planning to do a rebuild on a set of used Is350 front calipers. Did the rebuild kit 04478-22040 come with the retaining rings to hold the dust boots to the caliper? Or there are no rings to begin with?
Also, updated list of parts for this upgrade.

I think I might go with a 2013+ GS350 F-sport with 2-piece 14-inch rotors next, just for that 2-piece look

So there isn't really an appropriate thread for this, and I only have ideas, so IMO not enough for it's own thread...but since I've already done the 250->350 brake swap, and others who may be looking to do the same may be interested in this idea...
Google pictures of 8-piston Brembos that come on AMG big brake applications. Typically, you'll find a used 4-corner set in the $1k-$1.5k range. If you look closely, you'll see the fronts are bolted to an adapter bracket that can easily be replaced to re-purpose the calipers however you want. In '18 it seems someone used this idea to adapt to the Nissan -Z platform, and there's plenty of modern Mopars that run them...not sure if that's a kit or if it's conveniently the same, but doesn't matter, you should be ahead of me by this point. We just need an adapter bar to mount the caliper to the hub and an appropriately huge rotor to go with it...like, say, the 380mm rotors from a GSF? Gotta measure hat offsets and might need to shim behind the pads to give the caliper the meat it wants to grab, but I can't imagine this is impossible to do...
I can only think of two reasons to want to try this idea: "mines bigger", and someone who legit races their 2is in a class where they're up on weight/down on power to their peers. The -350/GS brakes on the 2is are plenty good enough for most quality street rubber to not need ABS, but if you're running tires that you're afraid to drive in gravel, there might be something to the AMG calipers...

there's a guy on Sienna Chat discussing IS350 brakes using a custom bracket. would work with almost all FWD Toyota cars and the RX, Highlander etc.

Man, everyone on this forum is obsessed with 3D printing. This is definitely a basic secondary school geometry class project. The amount of time you'd spend modelling and printing the prototype would better be spent transferring the dimensions you already had to spend a bunch of time verifying onto a blank aluminum bar using a mill, bench router, or--if you're the showing off kind--a plunge router. Difficulty setting is getting the caliper centerline to coincide with the rotor centerline, and since the hub wants horizontal fasteners while the AMG fronts want fasteners running toward the wheel axis, getting the bracket right is a matter of how precise you can replicate your measurements with your tooling.
When I was working the S70M modifications line, this is the type of task we'd assign to our worst/slowest/most incompetent employee, because everything critical can be written off as low-level scrap and re-tried as many times as it takes to get right. Depending on the difference in planes and how many threads you want to break safety, I'm imagining 3/4" 6061 bar stock would be all you need.

After 11 years on the IS350 big brake setup, I decided to do the poor man's budget big brakes using GS350 F-sport 2-piece. Check out the first video on the prep of the project.

@XSV and others...
If that Yellow pinch looking clamp is in fact a yellow pinch clamp on the brake line, I would replace that line and never use it for that purpose again as it damages the line causing delamination that can lead to rupture and *brake system failure!!*
A quick option for stopping line bleed is to partially depress the brake pedal. This seals the transfer port at the Master Cylinder preventing it from draining but some lines may drip a little.
If you drive hilly country, track, or use the brakes hard, or simply want piece of mind, replace the lines.

The rattle can candy metallic basecoat with SprayMax 2K for the GS350 poor man's big brake calipers turned out 1000% better than expected. Checkout the DIY on the new video on YouTube.

The completed install video is up. I may do a writeup with photos one day but for now, the edited video should be good.
