Post NEED HELP!!! GoT a Clunk Noise Coming from Passenger Susp.

have a 99 GS 300 w/ 109k stock everything.. with 01 GS430 17 chrome wheels.I need yall help.. tell me what you think would be a cause of this clunk noise..

< I would put it in reverse and go back and then stop and put it in drive and go forward and then stop quickly and there would be this loud "clunk" noise..
Had just bought the car about 3 months now and it has new front and rear breaks, timing belt, water pump done by previous owner. >

if anyone has experienced any type of problems.. please let me know.. I've seen pictures of previous clunk noises.. It wasnt too pretty. any suggestion please PM me, Thanks

So the clunking noise happens once the transmission shift or after you hit the brakes?

GSteg is going to tell you that it's your brake fitment hardware (spring clips).

If you don't hear a clunk after the first clunk after changing FWD/REV or REV/FWD and braking, don't worry about it. The clunk is not going to destroy your car, it is just the brake shifting slightly from forward to reverse.

but next time you do your brakes, replace the brake spring clips as well. A mechanic would charge you full price of another brake change, if you wanted to change it now.

OEM part would be called the "brake fitting kit" or fit kit

Sounds like brake pads moving a bit if it only happens under the conditions you described. This is pretty normal for the GS. If you post it in enough forums, it may eventually go away on its own.

Did you completely read my post? Suggestion has already been given.
If you are worried and want to fix it, change the brake fit kit, then report back. Your friend's brake clips may not be as worn as yours or have been previously replaced sometime before.
Based on what is described and prior cases, this is not something that to be worried about in a Toyota brake system. If you feel differently, what else can we say to convince you? Go to a mechanic who actually can look at your car rather then some yahoos on an internet forum if you have already made up your mind that it's a "bad thing"

me:i said, okay what am i suppose to do now..

tech: get a second opinion?
me: wtf i said to myself... this is bull shiet especially from a dealership

Everyone's telling you the same thing. The only "bull shiet" is your lack of comprehension.
The "clunk" is normal for the way Toyota brakes work.
Again, if it bothers you, don't play stupid. Just tell the mechanic you want the brake hardware clips/springs changed to new ones.

If he's an honest mechanic he'll tell you it's not necessary and you're wasting your money, but it's your money to waste and customer is always right. I guess that's better then you wasting everyone's time and over and over again asking the same question.
