Default Another Question About the TSIB Dustless Brake Pads

i went to Lexus of Valencia to get the tsib dustless brake pads done on my IS 250 and after a few days i noticed the dust on my front rims. so i went on here to check if they installed the correct parts. On my invoice it shows the correct tsib # but the part # was 04465-53040 which is different from the threads on here which is 04465-53030.

So then i went back and asked Longo Lexus if it was the correct part, and they told me that the 04465-53030 was the old part, the superseded part to the 04465-53040 and it was correct and that there will be still a little dust.

So my question is, is the 53040 the correct part that longo told me or is the 53030 the correct one, the one that shows on this thread and on the lexustsib.com website???

thank you

I haven't looked up the part #'s of the pads that my Lexus dealer used when they did my brake dust TSB, but I can tell you that there is NO brake dust at all on my wheels after more than a week of driving. It sounds like you still have the dreaded brake dust build up! What's up with that?

interesting. the mechanic could have accidentally (or purposely) put in a set of the OE pads instead of the new ones.

I got the TSIB done at the complimentary 5k miles and I have 6760 miles atm and absolutely minimal brake dust accumulating. it's about the same from front to back.

Just go back and talk to your service manager

Sounds like they put on the wrong pads. I had the TSIB done and have 90% less brake dust.

04465-53040 Are not the correct pads. Like the TSB states, the less dusty pad is the 04465-53030. They are NOT replaced by the 53040's. Your dealer is full of it.

So what is up with these idiot Lexus dealers that don't know their parts?? I'd go back to the dealer with the correct part number and demand they do it right this time. Idiots!

What revision was the TSIB? The last update that I know of was April 27, 2007 version which included the 250.

I would go to another dealer. I don't live in CA, but I always hear about problems with Longo Lexus.

I had TSIB done about a month ago and I am having the same problem - still massive amounts of dust on the wheels.

Whether or not you get the TSIB done, I would strongly recommend purchasing a can of Wheel Wax and spending 15 minutes putting it on your wheels. Any subsequent dust comes off slick as a whistle. I don't quite understand the hysteria around brake dust with the OEM pads. It really is no big deal.

its the idiots working there that dont know a thing! a tech is ORDERING a black sapphire is350 on black.. and he was told by the salesman it cant be done with black interior only on the 250's.. and i happend to be standing there looking at him like he was a retard..

and lets get back on topic.. even if you have an 08 they CAN use the part number for the 06-07's.. dont let them give you any bull**** if the lexus i work at can do it im 100% positive your dearlership can too.. seriously my rears look worse then my fronts brake dust (minimal but you know what im saying) with the dustless brake pads..
i have not washed my car all week and the brake dust i have collected is probably LESS then the amount of the OEM brake dust in a day (exaggerating but yeah there should be minimal brake dust)
