Price quote: Labor for lower ball joints

I just got quoted $250 for just labor/installation for lower ball joints for my GS400.

What are people paying for labor for this job?

depending on where you take your car, most local shops will do it for about $100-120

don't go by price, go by hours, as labor rates widely differ. I think the book quote is 2 hours (which is what you'll see most frequently).

im about to get mine done and my tech quoted me 40 bucks each side and i bought my lower ball joints 58 bucks each

Just hope no one finds out who this tech is, and gives him a call to inform him we are no longer then the 70's

$40 bucks can barely buy you a meal in some places

he gives me that price because he is a long time friend of mine. .. .but im sure he would charge way more for regular customers . .. im sure he has high rates because he is actually a RANGE ROOVER / LAND ROOVER speacialist tech.
