Sorry to Resurrect Old Thread
New control arms came in gonna attempt this weekend. Nice write up but I had a question...I noticed there is no mention of torqueing the bolts when done. Is that not required? I would think that a suspension component would require it. I couldnt find any torque specs whatsoever in the post unless I missed it.

Over40driv - Sorry I completely forgot to put them up here. I have been running into problems gettin mine off and had to replace bolt on 1 side and gettin ready to do other side tonight. I will do so when I get home.
Horent - look at the bushings...if they are cracked as mine were then its time. Mine only had 84k on them too. Probably not imperative I do them but if you look at the OP for this DIY his DEFINITELY needed to be replaced. Also going over bumps or potholes you'll hear a clunking noise.
I am swapping with the Supra lowers too and they are spot on and ALOT less $$$$$$.

after reading this yesterday i pulled both mine out in about a hour. getting the vlamous bushes put in today and should have her back on the road tonight. the bushes were worn out like i thought.

hey thanks for all the THUMBS UP comments. yeah torque specs? no idea, i just tightened them to what felt right, then got the alignment after all done. they probably retorqued them all. havent had any problems with it since

FRONT SUSPENSION
Lexus LCA forward bushing (1 per side): #48654-24040 I was quoted 1998 $61.27
Lexus LCA rear bushing (1 per side): #48655-24050 I was quoted 1998 $77.84
Both from:
Lexus Of Escondido (760) 233-5000
5444 Paseo Del Norte Carlsbad, CA
The parts guy checked to make sure they would be orderable and not just referred back to the whole control arm and apparently you can get a set of 4 OEM front LCA bushings for $278.00 from them.
I just read on another thread that the 98 bushings will work for 92+. So these should work for anyone wanting to do OEM LCA Bushings and still have the cushy ride without having to buy arms. Just make sure your ball joint is in OK shape.

I have a set of R2 Racing CA Bushing Kit for upper and lower for both front and rear. I originally bought these for my 95 NA supra but never put them on. what do i need to do to make these fit on my 96 sc300? im assuming ill have to put on supra CAs but will i need all 4 supra CAs (upper&lower, front&rear)? and will they fit on the sc without any problem?

Do you have to remove the brakes in order to get the control arms off, or will having the car on a lift alleviate that?
I had originally intended to do the job at home, as I have the press and the torch needed to replace the bushings in my arms, but it may be worth the few bucks to rent a lift at the hobby shop on base instead.
