I'm trying to install the old school RMM stb (non polished). The right side fits perfectly but the left side (battery side) does not. The long and thin black plastic box that sits horizontally in front of the battery (circled green) is in the way and the bracket does not fit in between the bolt and that box. Spacing is tight and there is no space for the bracket to sit right over the strut bolt (circled in blue). To top it all off, that left side strut bolts do not line up with the bracket holes either. I dug up this old thread and maybe this is my problem:

I will jack up both sides tomorrow and see if they line up but how do I clear that plastic box (circled green)?! BTW, I have an '02 GS300 and if it makes any difference, only other suspension mods is air suspension.
