Could part of the reason why many say their LS400 front brake upgrade stops "better" than stock was because they're replacing old worn components with new ones? Just a thought.

Default Brake Upgrade

What do you guys think just as a basic update to brakes? I have a 92 SC 400. Daily driver. I'm getting the shakes when stopping at higher speeds around 67-70 mph. Want a solid solution without having to get another mortgage. Thanks for any suggestions. The car is completely stock as it sits. I plan on getting 18 inch wheels nut for the moment I have the original 16s on the car with the original rims. Thanks for suggestions.

Replace your warped rotors.

I have that setup. There's no complaint. I'd recommend that setup to anyone. 1 thing that many people omit is not to use stainless braided brake lines. Bigger brake with more solid brake lines = better stopping. All of that improve the braking.

I have tt fronts and stock sc300 rears. I'm using slotted rotors on the rears and carbotech pads at all corners. The car stops amazingly and have done a few canyon runs without any problems.

Do you still have your original master cylinder? I'm going to be in a similar situation as you...As I have T.T fronts and rears.

I'm still using the stock master cylinder. I replaced my brake lines with braided ones. I've had the current pads for around 30k miles and they still bite hard. I can honestly say they are the best I've used and I will be using them on my second sc when I upgrade to TT brakes.

For those of you with LS400 brakes, Did you choose them out of your own personal choice or did you choose them because you could afford/obtain front T.T calipers?

I have them and they are night and day difference. When I drive my girlfriends SC with the stock brakes I hate how they feel now lol.
