Buying aftermarket springs and using stock struts - issues?
I have a 50K '01 GS430 and plan on buying the NF210 or DF210's this week. I want to keep my stock struts. Are there any issues in doing this? Do stock struts and aftermarket struts have the same drop when springs are installed? I wasn't sure if the spring seats are different or if I can expect the same drop.
Thanks,
Todd

lets just say its prob recommended you get new shocks if/when getting new springs. might as well since the strut is being taken out anyway. also, since the NFs dont drop as low as the DFs, my bet is the NFs will last longer on oem shocks; should you decide not to buy new shocks. the oems will go much faster with the DFs, since they drop considerably lower. I put NFs on my 03 GS430 when it had about 20k miles. By 35k miles my stock struts were toast (front right totally leaked out). I replaced them with Bilstein sports - what a difference! If you can afford it, do both now. It will save you on labor and you will be happier in the long run.
