Default TEIN V2.0 squeaking in cold weather???

i recently installed tein v2.0s in my gs late this summer. now that it's autumn and getting colder (int he 40's at night/morning), the rear coilovers are squeaking a lot. but as the temp rises, the noise slowly goes away...

what happened?

well i've just found out why i have this noise... i went to a tein retailer and took one of their shop guys around the block, and he identified it as comingfrom the dust boots. when they get wet or stiff from the cold, they start to squeak. he tried safety wiring the boots to the strut bodies and it worked for awhile, but the boots eventually pulled off and started squeaking again

short of removing them completely (the tein installer told me that this would void the warranty), what other options do i have?

My Tein CS v1.0 squeaks a bit in the rear over speedbumps when it's cold. It's very quiet if my windows are up.

i don't know if there is any significance in this, but has ne1 noticed that the v2.0 dust boots are 1/2 the length of the v1.0? why?

dunno.. maybe it's so that it doesn't get squished so much when the shock body gets compressed is my guess
