Yes. Even with TRD STB, you can still keep the engine cover.

With the TOMs STB on a GS430 can the engine cover be removed for service without having to remove the STB?

Yes, Steve has tried that on a GS300.

There will only be a space about a finger between engine cover and TOM'S STB. If you want to remove the engine cover, you have to remove the STB first.

Would that be considered 'extra' service, which incurs additional charge from the dealer when I take my car in for service?

Also any wear and tear effects of removing the STB at every service?

Yes, but dealer may not charge, and no to your second question.

Also, when does anyone need to take the engine cover off?? Only to replace spark plugs maybe?

That depends on the relationship between you and your dealer. I don't think there is any wear and tear effects on removing/installing the STB. Why would they do that at every service?

It's on my list for future mods, but I'm not ready to do it yet. Other priorities for my $$.

BTW, this was asked earlier and I don't recall seeing a response - does anyone know where I can see a picture of it? I'm not concerned about the color, just want to see what it looks like.

That's a REALLY nice looking piece.

Since I have the rear Tom's bar I know how nicely made it is.
