Default Popping noise when braking

The noise started shortly after I replaced my front rotors and pads. It's just a single loud pop from the front end whenever I brake. Doesn't matter if I'm barely rolling or if I'm going 70 and only when moving forward. It doesn't happen all the time but can be easily replicated after a few stops. I recently double check all bolts that I removed when I replaced the rotors to make sure none are loose but they're all tight and secure. The lower ball joints were replaced not too long ago as well. Nothing really looks out of place with the suspension either. Any clues?

Check to make sure your lug nuts and your studs are in good condition and not stripped. A lug nut not torqued all the way down can make that noise.

I'm pretty sure the lug nuts are all tight and the studs are ok since the shop torqued them down with a torque wrench and all were retighten just recently when I removed the wheels to inspect the bolts when I replaced the rotors. Probably best to take it in and have it inspected by a shop.

Did you use the original pads? Even with those, there tend to be a tiny space of freeplay where the pads could shift. Then when you brake going forward or brake going backward it shifts and makes that noise. Happens to me all the time unless it's REALLY tight up in there. Behind the fit kit that holds your pads, sometimes there is an extra piece of metal to keep it really tight. After market pads are worst at fitment and makes louder popping noises. It's embarrassing sometimes. hahahaha
