Default Bilstein HD and Lowering Springs

ok guys, as some of you might know, i recently made some post on another thread regarding the spring seats that came with my HD's a while ago that were the wrong flat types. i recently received the correct seats shipped from bilstein to replace the wrong ones that came with the struts. now my question is, would it be a bad idea to use the HD's with lowering springs like the eibach pro kit? i know some people have used the eibach's with oem struts, but i was wondering would i be blowing out the HD's. i read somehwere that the eibach's were designed to work with oem struts, so given the HD's are replacement and higher performance than the oem, i'm hoping they would work fine in the long run. i'm going to be mounting my new GS430 18 inchers soon and i don't want the 4x4 look.

thanks.

I have the L-tuned springs with Bilstein HD. L-tuned is technically the same thing as Eibach Pro kit. I have not had any problems at all. Bilstein techs also assured me that the HDs will not blow from these prings. And anyway, they have a lifetime warantee.

Yea don't wory about it. I live in NYC where I broke more stock rims, than most people brake DUBS. Everything is still fine. You will be ok. I am also looking for GS 18" rims. I actually have 3 already, need one more. Are you doing the install yourself?

i'm most likely gonna have my mechanic do it for me. he's only charging me 100 for labor, so i'll let him do it instead of getting my hands all dirty. at 25 bucks a corner, it's a pretty good deal.

$100 for labor is an awesome deal! That's basically $20/hour labor rate. Now only if he can charge the same rate for engine swaps

Do any of you have any pictures of your rides? I am looking at Eiback springs on OEM shocks (until they go) and going to 18" wheels. I am 4x4 right now but do not like a drop where the entire wheel/tire is not visible. Any help would be appreciated.

Yea you can go with Eiback, it will be lower, but nothing near coilovers.

do you find your rear sits higher than the front? i got bilstein sports/tanabe GF210 combo and i find that the rear looks weird...almost like it wasn't lowered at all. I have a set of Espelir ASD springs which im thinking of swapping since i've seen the drop on these and they look much better imo as it sits nicer.
