anybody know where to buy axxis pads in canada? specifically vancouver, BC?

Well it looks like it's time for new pads and wanted to give a quick review of the Axxis Ultimates. Put them on in January 2007 and have been some of the best brakes i've ever used. No dust, no squeaking/squealing and the stopping power is superb. I do a little canyon carving every now and then and the performance is consistant - no brake fade whatsoever for the exception of a little expanding due to the rubber brake lines (need to go with stainless or the like type of aftermarket brake lines). They lasted two years with very basic use and am extremely happy with them. Gonna pick mine up from here again unless someone knows where we all can save a few bucks more on these.

I just replace my brake pads yesterday with Hawks and also turned my rotors plus bleeding my brake fluid and also painted my calipers . All in 2 days and now I can even walk or standing up lol.
Don't know why, my braking doesn't seems to brake well. It take a little longer to fully stopped compare the the oem pads. Is it because it hasn't breaken in yet?

Most of the time they'll feel mushy for a while. Brake pads do need to be bedded in. Do not always assume they need to be bedded in lightly. Follow Hawk's instruction because many pads require some harder braking at first.

I've done plenty of brake jobs and they all feel like they dont grip as well in the beginning, but they will bite better as the pads get bedded.

Thanks for the reply GSteg. That's what I'm hoping too. It has been a long time since I did brake pads replacement. I was afraid of air in my brake lines because of the bleeding, but I though I did a pretty good job on it.

OEM Lexus pads is good and also doesn't kill the rotors as much as the aftermarkets. IMO. When installing new brakes, don't brake hard for the first 200 - 400 miles or else you can glaze out the brakes. GL!

Does anyone here know the OEM part number for the Rear Brake Pad (GS 300-2000) ? so I can get it from Toyota Dealer.

I would say either Akebono or Axxis. However, I would recommend staying away from the Axxis (PBR) Metal Masters; they ate the ***** out of my rotors after only 1.5 years! Never had the Ultimates but heard great things about them though. I am in the process of buying new ceramcs myself (I have a current thread up on this). I am looking into either the Akebono ProActs (again) or the Akebono Street Performance pads. Akebono makes a VERY quiet pad and the stopping is also great with minimal brake dust. GL!

anyone here running Endless? i have those in my fronts and the brake dust is driving me nuts. after 1 wash and a 45 mile drive, the rims are dusty as hell.

I am actually feeling Hawk HPS lately. I have been running a set on my GS now for over a year. I used to praise Axis (PBR) for the powerfull stopping power, but they eat the hell out of the rotors and only last about half a year (I drive like a maniac and in the city). Hawk will not give you the same performance, but they last a crap load longer than Axis. Performance is better thank Akibono or any other stock replacement. I do not have any grinding noises, but I also know how to properly break in a pad-rotor set.

I need front brakes ASAP and cant wait to place an online order for Axxis Ultimates, which is what I have on now. I need suggestions for ceramic pads from local parts places. For example, how are the Duralast Gold Cmax / Brake Pads from Auto Zone. Any other suggestions that are comparable to my Axxis Ultimates? TIA
