BBK Swap.... 04 LS430 --> 01 GS430
Well,
It didn't take long for me to think about modding my 01 GS430 which is "supposed" to be my DD.
Since I am getting a set of BBK for my 04 LS430, I was wondering if I could use my LS430 OEM Brakes, pads, rotors and lines and put it on my GS430.
Do you think this is possible??
After market wheels of course with High Disc so no worries there.
Mike

I'm not sure (100%) but you might run into a problem with instalation. I belive the bottom part (LS caliper) is larger than GS thus, you might have to check for clerance on only one side, so you save time and labor.
From what i know the problem is that LS caliper rubs against lower control arm mounting bolts, one of those where lower control arm meets caster arm at bolting point.
There was a thread on this issue i've seen few months ago, so you may dig a bit and find the answer
I belive the solution was a custom made washer, also i've heard that someone supposed to come out with that "washer" but honestly never heard of it since than, plus it seems to me like safety issue as well.
I would probably shave LS caliper as much as possible, unless it will create safety hazard at some point
LMK how is your project progressing and GL

I'd leave the LS calipers as is, and upgrade the GS
You get more of an "upgrade" that way.
LS: 4 pistons to 6 pistons: 2 pistons difference
GS: 2 pistons to 6 pistons: 4 pistons difference
There's a guy in the FS Section selling a Supra front brake kit if you want to go that route.

It is possible, but as others have said you need a custom / special bracket.
At least two members have done it here on CL... I think these were sprayed and branded DSR (ala same as RMM does to the Supra TT brakes)
From what I've read, 3 companies used LS430 calipers as their base kit but each of them developed their own brackets: TRD, Netz Sports, and DSR. None of them sold well.
