Default clunking noise when car is in reverse??

so i recently got my ball joints and tie rods replaced....after that installation, i have been gettign this loud 'clunking' noise that seems to be coming from under my feet (drivers side). it only happens when the car is in reverse and i am turning the wheel (like backing out of a parking space). when the car is in Drive, everything seems fine.

any thoughts to what this might be? maybe the mechanic did not install the ball joints/tie rods correctly? or maybe something came loose when he was banging on it to get the old ball joints out?

hopefully this issue is not serious...but il prob take it back to the mechanic...just wanted to get some ideas on what u guys think it may be, so that i can point out a few things to him....
