Default Need advice- are tie rods and ball joints a DIY job?

As the title says- can a rookie handle these? I don't consider myself mechanically inclined, but I do like to take care of things myself when I can. I did manage to get the L-tuned shocks and springs on ok, although it took me alot longer than it took others to,based on searching through past threads. So should I try it, and what would I need other than a ball joint puller? thanks.

I think it should be a DYI if you have the tools for it. Just remember to mark the tie rod ends because you will need an alignment right away.
